The Lord isn't really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent.

Lord Jesus, Thank You that You are a patient and longsuffering God. Teach me to be patient while I await Your coming, knowing that You delay out of compassion, unwilling to leave any of Your people behind. Let me be diligent to spread the good news while I await Your return. Amen.
